We grow community networks that can foster freedom from sexually motivated exploitation, assault, and abuse.
The mission of Triumph Over Trafficking Alliance is to provide essential resources for children
and youth in Southwest Missouri who have experienced or are at a high risk of experiencing sexually motivated exploitation, abuse, or assault. We increase public awareness through
community collaboration and education and provide a coordinated approach to
empowering survivors of sexual violence.
Triumph Over Trafficking Alliance (TOTA) was founded in 2022 in response to the immense need for resources that serve children and youth who experience sexual exploitation throughout the Southwest Missouri region. Our TOTA team strives to protect people aged birth to 24 years old from sexual trauma by providing resources that educate and empower against sexually motivated trafficking, assault, and abuse. Through our partnerships with affiliate organizations, we grow community networks that can bring safety from sexual exploitation to future generations. Together, we extend awareness of sexual violence to inspire community action.
Our TOTA team offers resources to survivors of sexual trauma and those at high risk of experiencing sexual violence. These resources stem from H.E.A.R.T. and address the needs of:
· Healing of mind, body and spirit
· Education
· Advocacy
· Recovery/protection
· Training in life and job skills
Through our programs connected to H.E.A.R.T., we educate communities on the reach of sexual exploitation within their own backyards. We further equip community members with the tools they need to foster freedom from sources of sexual violence. The community networks we grow through our partnerships serve to bring safety from sexual exploitation to future generations.
In 2000, the federal government passed the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. The act states that a person under 18 who is induced to perform a commercial sex act is a victim of a severe form of trafficking (22U.S.C.7102) and not a perpetrator of prostitution. We seek to establish more federal laws and policies that can restore power to survivors of sexual trauma.
Our team uses a range of collected resources to create a path toward recovery for survivors of sexual violence ages birth to 24 years old. This includes:
We put together Comfort Bags to provide victims of sexual violence with essential clothing, hygiene, and comfort items in the moments when they’re most needed.
